Kevin Mills Racing Spectrum driver Michael Eastwell has moved up to second place in the Avon Tyres BRSCC Formula Ford 1600 Championship with another consistent performance in Rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the series at Kirkistown on the weekend.
After missing a tow in qualifying, Eastwell had to start Round 10 from seventh position on the grid. But some great race-craft enabled him to move up to third position, a result he repeated in Round 11. He finished the weekend with second place in Round 12, to end up as the highest overall scorer for the race meeting.
Jordan Dempsey Racing had a really strong outing in his return to the Kevin Mills Racing outfit as well – he qualified fourth, and finished seventh in Round 10 after being run off the circuit by another driver. He recovered to fourth in Round 11 and third in Round 12 to make it two Spectrum drivers on the podium.
Hugo Bentley-Ellis had a tougher weekend compared to some of his previous outings, but still charged into the top 10 in Round 11 after a DNF in Round 10.
The next three rounds are at Castle Combe, 14-15 July.
