Kevin Mills Racing driver Michael Eastwell has secured second in the BRSCC F1600 Championship for 2018 after another impressive trio of performances in the final round at Donington Park on the weekend.
After qualifying his Spectrum 011 fifth, the 22-year-old improved to fourth in Race 1, before improving to second place in Race 2 and chasing the eventual winner, Rory Smith, all the way to the chequered flag.
Another fourth-place finish in a shortened third and final race was enough for Eastwell to secure the runner-up position for the season, with a total of 12 podium finishes, five fastest laps and 19 top-six results.
The other Spectrum driver, Michael Moyers also enjoyed a solid weekend; after qualifying seventh, Moyers rocketed up to third in Race 1. He took the lead briefly in Race 2 before again finishing third, and came home sixth in Race 3.
The Kevin Mills Racing outfit’s attention now turns to the prestigious Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone on 3-4 November.
