Pole and race win on debut for Spectrum 014

A top three qualifying lockout, race win and two fastest laps have marked the impressive debut of the new Spectrum 014 in the opening round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship at Albert Park, however most Spectrum drivers and their teams are wondering what could, and should, have been following the support races to the Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix.

 

The outright pace of the new Spectrum chassis was confirmed in style in Thursday’s qualifying session, with Spectrum 014s dominating the first three positions on the grid and achieving the third consecutive pole position on debut for a new Spectrum chassis.

New Spectrum 014 unveiled ahead of Grand Prix season opener


Spectrum Racing Cars is proud to announce the arrival of its new Formula Ford chassis, the Spectrum 014.

 

The latest in a long and illustrious line of Spectrum chassis, the 014 signifies Spectrum’s intention to reclaim the Australian Formula Ford Championship titles it last won in 2008 and 2010, and will debut in next weekend’s opening round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship at Albert Park as a support event to the Formula 1™ Qantas Australian Grand Prix.

BRD retains Shae Davies for 2012 title assault

 

Borland Racing Developments (BRD) will retain Shae Davies for the second consecutive season in the 2012 Australian Formula Ford Championship.

 

Davies, 21, will continue with BRD after joining the team during the 2011 championship. A former state level Formula Ford champion in his home state of Queensland, Davies will drive one of BRD’s brand new Spectrum 014 chassis currently under construction at Spectrum Racing Cars headquarters in Braeside, Victoria.
