Hart set on Spectrum Driver to USA Sebring test

 

Just weeks after finishing his senior year of high school, Canberra’s Mathew Hart is bound for Sebring to test a USF2000 car with championship winning team Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing as his Spectrum Driver to USA prize. Hart, runner up in the 2012 Australian Formula Ford Championship aboard his Synergy Motorsport prepared Spectrum 014, won the prize from Spectrum Racing Cars as the highest placed Spectrum driver in the Australian Championship.

Spectrum makes history with US Championship win

 

After a sensational season, Finland’s Matias Köykkä driving a Spectrum-Honda for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing (CMWTR) has won the 2012 US Formula F 1600 Championship Series.

 

Köykkä clinched the title last weekend with a win and a fourth place finish respectively in the final two rounds at the iconic Watkins Glen International road course in New York. The title success is Spectrum’s first in the USA, and means Spectrum has now become the first ever Australian racing car constructor to win a championship series in the USA.

Power takes Rookie title lead at Bathurst

 

Despite a start to the weekend that was overshadowed by a frightening accident for one of its drivers, Spectrum Racing Cars can still take plenty of positives from the penultimate round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

 

Synergy Motorsport’s Sam Power enjoyed a great weekend which resulted in his best ever round finish of second overall as well as a second place in Race 2, equalling his previous career best achieved in Townsville earlier this year. Significantly, Power has now also taken the lead in the Rookie of the Year standings by 14 points from Macauley Jones with one round remaining.
