TEAMS BOOST SPECTRUM PRESENCE

As many as sixteen Spectrum Formula Fords look likely to be contesting the 2008 Australian Formula Ford Championship, with five professional teams choosing the Australian designed and built chassis for their campaigns.

Howard Racing will field a two car Spectrum team out of its Gold Coast Based V8 Supercar operation, with Peter Phillips running a one car program based in metropolitan Brisbane. Moving down the East Coast, Justin Cotter’s Synergy Motorsport has confirmed a three car deal from its Sydney base. Justin takes on the challenge of team owner for the first time, having extensive experience both as a front running Formula Ford driver and factory contracted engineer.

Newcastle’s Icon Motorsport will move up to the National Championship, having dominated the NSW State Championship over the past three seasons. Team Manager and driver Ben Morley will be looking to be at the pointy end, particularly at his local tracks.

Also making the step into the National Championship is Bruin Beasley’s Victorian based Minda Motorsport. Minda has enjoyed success with many race and championship wins in the Victorian State Championship and will field a strong four car squad in the AFFC.

Borland Racing Developments is proud to have teams of this calibre elect to utilise their Spectrum Formula Ford chassis.
