Golding steps up after World Championship success
Young talent James Golding of Warragul is now taking the next step in his racing career, Formula Ford. This year James will be teaming up with Borland Racing Developments in the ex 2012 Shae Davies Australian built Spectrum chassis. He is committed to 5 rounds of the Victorian Formula Ford Championship as well as two selected rounds of the Australian Formula Ford Championship.
Formula Ford will be James’ first step towards his dream of becoming a professional racing car driver. Being the World’s premier junior development category where the likes of Mark Webber, Will Power and Marcos Ambrose started their impressive careers, James has now set his goal at the highest level.
“I am very grateful and privileged to join Borland Racing Developments for my first year in Formula Ford racing and I’m looking forward to the start of my racing car career” said James after the exciting news.
After an impressive Karting career winning State and National championships James recently made his international debut in the Rotax Max Grand Finals in Portugal for Team Australia. Racing against 72 of the best Junior Rotax drivers from all over the World, James charged through the heats to achieve Pole Position for the final. After leading the first half of the race, and some very competitive racing, James finished with a very creditable 7th position.
Mike Borland declares “James impressed us with his maturity and speed during his first test day in the Spectrum at the end of 2012. We are delighted to have James come aboard to be part of our Spectrum team for 2013”.
